Known as the Burgundies of Belgium, Flanders Red Ales are recognized by their slightly tart, wine-like flavor. The aroma is dominated by various dark fruits including sour cherry and plum while several strains of wild yeast create the distinct barnyard character. After aging on French oak, this unique ale picks up some tannins and flavors of tobacco, leather and spice making it even more reminiscent of a fine red wine.
