KROOKS MILL
American Pale Ale
A well-balanced hoppy American style pale ale with a generous usage of fine 2 row pale and Crystal Malts. This beer is copper in color and is finished with fresh Cascade and Amarillo hops from the Pacific Northwest, which provide a wonderful floral aroma. This ale is a perennial favorite here at the Manayunk Brewing Company. Also available in bottles to go.

MANAYUNK LAGER
Marzen Style Lager
In strict accordance with the German purity law of 1516, we present to you this annually brewed festbier. Traditionally brewed in March and stored deep in the caves of Germany, this beer was brought to the masses to celebrate in October. It is a Vienna-style lager with a bit more malt and hops making a malty but balanced beverage. Copper-orange in color, it sports a toasty malt backbone that wonderfully compliments itself with many of our menu items.

CURRENT SEASONALS:
Updated 2-4-10

ST. ALPHA
Belgian IPA
A hybrid of two different styles, our Belgian IPA contains ingredients from both sides of the pond. Aromas of apricot and banana from the Belgian yeast combine with the piney, citrusy aroma of American hops to create a wonderfully complex bouquet. This golden-colored ale’s taste is dominated by the assertive bitterness of the hops while maintaining a balance that will please fans of both Belgian and hoppy American styles of beer.
7.9%ABV, 57 IBU’s

QUAKER CITY STOUT
Oatmeal Stout
Although we don't recommend waking up to a pint of oatmeal stout, this version contains a traditional breakfast ingredient. Flaked oats add a smooth, silky mouthfeel to this already full-bodied stout while the use of roasted barley and chocolate malts contribute to its black color and strong, roasty flavor. Even with its relatively modest alcohol content, this is one of the heartiest beers we brew.
5.6 % ABV, 25 IBU's

CALIFORNIA DREAMIN’
Imperial India Pale Ale
Imperial, or super IPA’s were spawned out of the fascination of hops by the American consumer and are beyond Pale Ales and IPA’S in terms of both hop and alcohol content. Our interpretation is orange-gold in color, lightly bitter but highly hoppy with a firm malt backbone. We’ll gladly put this
head-to-head with the best that those California Hophead/Brewers have to offer.
8.5 % ABV, 65 IBUs

YUNKERS' NOCTURNUM
Belgian Dark Strong Ale
The Belgian inspired ale series continues with our Belgian dark strong ale. A delicate fruit character from our Belgian yeast strain combines with numerous dark specialty malts to create flavors of plum, raisin, and fig. Both strong and malty, this mahogany colored ale could be the perfect elixir for a cold winter night.

PAST SEASONALS:

OLD EBENEZER
English Barleywine
Back in merry old England, locals like Old Ebenezer (Scrooge after his enlightenment) celebrated special events by breaking out a brew called barleywine. The Brits crafted these ales from all their favorite English barley and hops in larger quantities to make stronger brews worthy of celebration. In this tradition we made our version with a nearly a ton of malt, English Phoenix and Kent Golding hops, and a British sense of celebration. Join us in a toast to good "Old Ebenezer".
9.0%ABV, 35 IBUs

MONK FROM THE 'YUNK
Belgian Tripel
Trappist tradition comes to Manayunk with the first in a series of Belgian inspired ales. This strong, golden colored ale is brewed with pilsner malt and noble hops, but it is our unique Belgian strain of yeast that provides the complex aromas of fruit and spice. With a dry finish and relatively light body, you will find our Belgian Tripel very drinkable for a beer this potent. 10 oz servings only.
9.8%ABV, 29 IBU

BLACK EYE P.A.
Black IPA
Out of the darkness of night comes this off the wall style of beer. It is crafted with plenty of our favorite American hops and just enough roasted barley to make its presence known. Nestled into the perfect ABV, this ale is a great liaison between hoppy and dark/malty brews. A perfect ending to the Old Ebenezer.

7.1 % ABV, 15 IBUs

PHILADELPHIA PORTER
Robust Porter
This style of beer was popular before malting technology evolved to create lighter malts with higher starch content, allowing the renaissance of lager beers. Our Philadelphia Porter is brewed traditionally in the robust porter category and is dark brown in color with mahogany highlights. It has a deep flavorful body with a slight amount of chocolate bitterness and a supportive role of English hops. We feel this is the perfect way to begin our fall season and hope you enjoy.
5.5% ABV, 25 IBU’s

YUNKIN' PUNKIN'
Pumpkin Ale
Take one sip and you'll be at Grandma's gathered around the hearth with the whole family. HOP PHANATIC
Imperial Amber Ale
This recipe was developed with the idea of an amber ale that has more hops and more malt. Deep amber in color, this complex sipper is heavily dosed with Cascade, Centennial and Columbus hops in the mash, kettle and fermentor. For the hop head in all of us, we say cheers.

HOP HARVEST
Wet-Hopped Golden Ale
The annual Hop Harvest ale is the most coveted of all seasonals and is prized by brewers and consumers alike. This beer can be made only two days out of the year during the harvest in Yakima, Washington. The hops are taken directly off the vine and sent overnight to be used in our kettle the next day. This annual elixir is bright gold and produces a distinct floral taste akin to the smell of fresh hops, without being too bitter. Enjoy it while you can. We sure will!
5.2% ABV, 35 IBUs

WHEAT WALLOP
Imperial Wheat
One of the many pleasures of brewing beer here at Manayunk is that if we thirst for something or want to experiment with a style that is not available, we just brew it up. This is one of those cases. We have taken our wildly popular Hefeweizen recipe and ramped it up to wine strength and are thrilled with the outcome. The result is a suprisingly quenching deep gold elixir with the heat of alcohols hidden nicely under the silky texture of fruity esters from the finest malted wheat available, a slightly elevated fermentation temperature, and months of careful aging. We are proud to share our creation with you and hope you enjoy it as much as we do.

DUNKELWEIZEN
Dark Unfiltered Wheatbier
The Dunkelweizen was one of the most popular beers in Germany in the 1950’s and 1960’s, and lost popularity with the emerging younger drinkers to the ever popular Hefeweizen until many U.S. micro brewers brought it back. Virtually a combination of a Munich Dunkel and Hefeweizen, this beer carries the best traits of both. Our interpretation is lagered of two months leaving very little yeast in suspension, is light brown in color and drinks light and smooth with a rich malt background.
5% ABV, 20 IBUs

GESTALTBIER
Northern German Alt Bier
“Alt” in German means old, referring to the early 1700s before lager yeast was isolated and some German breweries brewed ales. Gestalt is a reference to the psychological principle that the sum, in critical applications, equals more than the sum of its parts. This Alt is brewed not in the common Düsseldorf Style, but in the Northern Alt style, giving it a more dry, roasty and less bitter flavor than its southern cousin. Light brown in color, this is a smooth drinkable session beer to be enjoyed again & again.
5% ABV, 20 IBUs

KAYAK KOLSH
Blonde German Ale
Until recently, as American Microbrewers embraced the style, Kölsh was rarely found outside Cologne, Germany where one may be hard-pressed to find anything else. Unique in that it is an ale made in Germany, Cologne embraces this old style of brewing that is dictated by the Kölsh Konvention. Our interpretation is extremely balanced, dancing between fruity malt undertones and snappy hopiness, with a brilliant deep gold appearance. PROST!

Deep copper in color, a luscious malt background underlies its’ lacy head as it presents a complex citrus hop aroma and flavor well into the finish. A true hopheads’ dream. Surf’s up... Dude.
